Sunder G. Jambunathan
Principal

Mr. Jambunathan is an experienced commercial real estate investor that has been actively investing in the New York City market for over 9 years. During his career, he has closed over $600M of acquisitions and has had asset management responsibility for over $1.2B of assets across the United States. Mr. Jambunathan has played a role in the acquisition, financing and management of hospitality, multifamily, and development strategies and has most recently overseen 5 condo developments including a 273 unit ground-up project in Seattle, WA and 4 high-rise projects in Manhattan.
Mr. Jambunathan is a co-founder of Certes Partners and previously worked at Deutsche Bank, having spent 6 years with the bank’s real estate private equity division, a global investment management business with EUR 43.6B under management.
He is a frequent speaker at industry events, including IMN’s Opportunity Fund Conference, Eastern Consolidated's New York Multifamily Summit., the Anchin Design and Construction Forum and Buyouts Insider’s Emerging Manager Forum.
Mr. Jambunathan received a B.S. from Georgetown University, where he was a Deans Award recipient, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the New York Private Equity Network, and a founding member of the NY South Asian Real Estate Network (NYSAREN.org).
Elan Hakimian
Principal
Mr. Hakimian is experienced in underwriting and executing all types of real estate investments with a focus on property development, redevelopment and re-positioning in the hospitality and residential sectors. He has been responsible for the acquisition and/or asset management of over $1.0B of assets across North America including 5 hospitality assets and 3,000 multifamily units.
Prior to forming Certes, Mr. Hakimian spent 7 years at Deutsche Bank in its RREEF Real Estate Global Opportunity Funds Group. The group’s latest fund had over $1.9B of assets under management.
Mr. Hakimian received a B.S. from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was awarded the Dean’s Honor Key. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, New York Private Equity Network, and the NYU Young Alumni Leadership Circle.
Wesley Sherow
Senior Property Manager

Mr. Sherow is an experienced real estate professional specializing in luxury asset management, multifamily portfolios, and property development.
Prior to Certes Partners, Mr. Sherow managed diverse portfolios totaling approximately 4,000 units between PeakMade Real Estate, Cushman & Wakefield and Copper Club. As a real estate entrepreneur, he directed numerous high-ROI residential investments and advised on multimillion-dollar acquisitions, including projects for HBO's Production Studios.
Mr. Sherow holds a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Albany’s Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and has been featured in regional media for innovative real estate strategies. In his spare time, he is also the founder of Roll for Impact, a storytelling podcast, as well as a nightlife photographer.
Sahil Gandhi
Associate
Sahil is an associate on the acquisition team and his responsibilities include sourcing, underwriting, and performing due diligence on investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Certes, Sahil was an associate at Pyramid Global Hospitality where he led underwriting efforts on full and select service hotels, complex resorts, large portfolios, and mixed-use developments throughout the United States. Prior to Pyramid, he was at Hildreth Real Estate Advisors where he was responsible for asset management and sourcing and underwriting potential commercial real estate opportunities in the New York Metro Area.
Sahil received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from New York University.
Alex Karp
Project Management
Mr. Karp is an experienced professional with over 17 years of diverse construction and development experience. During his career, he has been responsible for over $1.2B in construction hard costs, 3.5M sqft. of work, and over 1,500 residential and hospitality units coming to market.
Prior to joining Certes, Mr. Karp held leadership roles in Construction Management firms including Turner Construction and has been leading the construction of projects for over a decade.
Mr. Karp received a B.S. in Engineering from Alfred University and has obtained several additional licenses and certifications.
Geneva Stone
Bookkeeper
Geneva is an experienced bookkeeper and also coordinates property management for assets across the portfolio
James Buttigieg
Property Management
James is an experienced contractor and building superintendent. He manages light remodeling projects in addition to overseeing property management within Manhattan.
